PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 24, 2014--
Rent-A-Center, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS: RCII) today donated computer equipment
and software, including nine Lenovo all-in-one computers and a high-tech
multimedia computer to The Boys & Girls Club of South Portland. The
South Portland Clubhouse is one of four across the nation sharing a
total of $100,000 worth of Rent-A-Center funding. The funding is
earmarked for the development of “Tech Centers” aimed at providing youth
the latest in available technology.
“The ten new computers donated by Rent-A-Center are certain to greatly
enhance our positive impact on Club members this school year,” said
Raymond Ruby, South Portland Clubhouse unit director. “We have a number
of kids excited to use the new hardware. By providing top-notch
computers with top-notch programs adapted from Boys & Girls Clubs of
America, we’re doing all we can to give our members great learning
opportunities in our revitalized Tech Center.”
